This is the companion app for Jolly Logic's AltimeterThree, a compact recording altimeter designed for hobby model enthusiasts. The AltimeterThree records altitude and acceleration data for various flying devices such as quadcopters, planes, rockets, kites, hunting falcons, gliders, and helicopters.
The app establishes a wireless connection to the AltimeterThree via Bluetooth, enabling users to monitor battery levels and device status from distances of up to 100 feet. By initiating the recording feature within the app, the AltimeterThree's precise sensors commence capturing altitude and acceleration metrics.
Following a flight session, users can download and view an interactive altitude graph through the app. The graph is fully manipulable, allowing users to analyze flight movements in detail by utilizing pinch-to-zoom functions.
For those inclined towards delving deeper into the scientific and mathematical aspects of their flights, the app provides an option to share flight data in a standard spreadsheet format. This facilitates thorough analysis on a computer within a laboratory or classroom setting.
To share achievements with peers, friends, or classmates, the app enables users to post flight graphs and statistics on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Flickr, and via email directly from their mobile device following a flight session.
The app is available free of charge with full functionality; however, flight recording capabilities necessitate the use of the AltimeterThree altimeter from Jolly Logic or authorized retailers.
When GPS is activated on the mobile device, AltimeterThree automatically logs the location of each flight. It is important to note that continuous use of GPS in the background may lead to a notable reduction in battery life.
